5 songs you want to add to your weekend playlist

Updated: Nov 8, 2020

It is known that 2020 is a year full of surprises, and even if some of us thought this would be the year to achieve our goals, it made us change everything. It became the year of art, movies, stay at home, and a lot of music. A lot of artists have been releasing songs since the quarantine started back in March, and the diverse and abundant catalog of tunes have been keeping us occupied while learning how to change the way we live every day of our lives in isolation.

Here is our top 5 for the songs you want to add to your playlist this week!

1. Tattoo “Rauw Alejandro, Camilo” With a Miami summer music vibe, Camilo and Rauw Alejandro presented the remix for the original version of Rauw Alejandro’s song called “Tattoo”, which was released in February.

2. For Sale “Carlos Vives, Alejandro Sanz” On May 22, 2020. Carlos Vives and Alejandro Sanz worked together to release the song “For Sale”, the track number 14 of Carlos Vives’ new album called “Cumbiana”. With a romantic vibe, the artists share verses that tell a story of a guy who is in love with a girl that was in his life once. The story talks about how love is not built with superficial things, but with memories, experiences, thoughts and moments shared by two people. With a mix of urban beats, pop synths and melodies from Cumbia, Carlos Vives creates a new commercial sound that highlights the fusion of Andean, African and European music components that have been key in the Latin culture.

3. Naked “Jonas Blue, MAX” James Robin known as Jonas Blue released “Naked” with the collaboration of MAX on June 25, 2020. For Funk music lovers, this song is a summer romance hymn to play in the car while sharing a good time with friends or that special person. The song has a catching melody that is first shown by a palm mute guitar in the intro, which is then shared with the bass. However, this is not the only hook that stays in your head because of the way Jonas Blue uses sticky vocal melodies that create a fresh and interesting mix with the groove presented by the percussion segment.

4. Freedom “Kygo, Zak Abel” , produced by Kygo and Lawrie Martin If you are into electronic music and have listened to the multiplatinum song “It Ain’t Me” with Selena Gomez, then you probably are familiar with the talent and productions created by the Norwegian musician Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, known as Kygo. With a dance vibe, vocal chops, melodic synths, and beach party mood, “Freedom” gives the listener 3 minutes and 18 seconds colorful and light emotions that make you move your body with the beat of the song.

5. Quarantine & Chill – CreativAngel, Jaii. Reynolds, Trll Kennedy With a Hip Hop beat mixed with atmospheric pads and soul vocals, CreativAngel produces a track that makes the listener get into a chill vibe. When you listen to the song, it takes you to a place where the problems disappear as you get into a trance state, because of the auditory stimulation created by the different instruments located in the production of the tune.
